Malaysia Standard 1480:2019 is a food safety standard according to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. This standard specifies requirements for a food safety assurance programme where an organization in food supply chain need to demonstrate its ability to control foodborne hazards and produce food that is safe for human consumption.

Makanan Selamat Tanggungjawab Industri (MeSTI), is a certification scheme introduced by Ministry of Health to achieve and meet minimum requirements of a Food Safety Assurance Program. It is aimed to help SME as the existing Food Safety Management System certification such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, etc. is difficult for them to obtain.
