To effectively implement an EMS, it is essential that employees and stakeholders are aware of the requirements of the standard. This includes understanding the organization's environmental policy, environmental objectives and targets, and the procedures and processes for managing environmental aspects and impacts. Awareness training should be provided to all relevant personnel, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. This will ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in achieving the organization's environmental objectives and targets.

Internal auditors play a critical role in evaluating the effectiveness of the EMS and ensuring that it meets the requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 standard. Internal audits are conducted by trained personnel within the organization to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the EMS. The purpose of internal auditing is to identify areas for improvement and to ensure that the EMS is effectively managing environmental aspects and complying with legal and regulatory requirements.
